Evan McPherson Named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Bengals K Evan McPherson today was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the team's 32-14 win at Baltimore in Week 13.

McPherson went a perfect six-for-six on FG attempts and two-for-two on PATs to account for 20 points in the Thanksgiving victory. His six made FGs were a career high, the most by any kicker in the NFL this season and tied for the second-most in a game in Bengals history.

McPherson's FGs came from distances of 31, 42, 24, 33, 52 and 41 yards. His first four kicks occurred in the first half to help give Cincinnati a 12-7 halftime lead. He joined Houston's Kaimi Fairbairn and the L.A. Rams' Joshua Karty as the only kickers in the league this season to make four FGs in a single half. McPherson's 20 points scored were the most by any NFL kicker in a game this season, and were the second-most ever scored by a Bengals kicker behind Shayne Graham's 21 points on Nov. 11, 2007 at Baltimore.

McPherson's 52-yarder in the fourth quarter against the Ravens marked his 28th career made FG from 50 or more yards, which are the most in Bengals history and tied for the sixth-most in the NFL since he entered the league in 2021. He also has made 20 consecutive FG attempts from inside 50 yards, dating to Week 13 of last season.

This is McPherson's fourth career AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award. He previously received the honor in Weeks 1 and 11 of the 2021 season, and Week 4 of the '22 campaign. Bengals players have combined for 23 weekly awards (Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams) since the start of the 2021 season, the third-most in the NFL in that span.
