Five Observations from Day 3 of Bengals Training Camp

1. Genetic Freaks

Amarius Mims and Orlando Brown Jr. are both listed at 6'8, 350 pounds and took O-line coach Scott Peters for a nice ride.

"They are genetic freaks," said Dave Lapham.

2. Better Burton

Jermaine Burton had a good day with several catches from Joe Burrow and Jake Browning.

"You can tell he learned a lot from his rookie year," said WR coach Troy Walters. "On the field, he knows where to line up and what routes to run. So he's much more comfortable."

3. Turnovers at the Top of Mind

Al Golden’s Notre Dame defense led the NCAA with 33 takeaways in '24. Ball disruption is a core principle that's emphasized at practice.

"When you're always harping on it and working on it, it becomes second nature," said Logan Wilson. "That translates to turnovers in games."

4. Competition in the Trenches

Former 1st round pick Taven Bryan (#70) and 3rd rounder McTelvin Agim (#72) signed just before camp to compete at DT.

"Those two are guys we have some regard for," said Duke Tobin. "They have some traits. Hopefully they'll be able to come in, find a role and show they belong"

5. Money Mac

After a disappointing year, Evan McPherson has made all 12 of his FG attempts.

"After my rookie year, I went on a deep dive to figure out how I could be more consistent," Evan said. "It sent me the other way. This past off-season, I kind of went back to what I grew up doing."
