Five Observations from Bengals Mandatory Minicamp Day 2

1. Burrow's Best of the Spring?

I saw three defenders.

Joe Burrow spotted Andrei Iosivas.

"If there's a window, he's going to throw the ball in it," said offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher. "It doesn't matter how big it is. He's going to make the throw."

2. In The Trenches

A pass rush/pass pro drill was intense.

"We're going to follow the guidelines that dictate how we can practice this time of year," said Pitcher. "But we want to challenge our guys. We've talked at length with our lines about just how crucial that element is to our success."

3. Advice from a Legend

Ryan Rehkow, coming off a great rookie year, got some pointers from the best punter in team history Kevin Huber.

"Little things," said Huber. "He doesn't need to make any big changes, but if something clicks with him that might help him get even better, I'm here to help."

4. Fundamentals

How do you improve tackling without doing it? By practicing fundamentals.

"If you're not attacking the ball, if you're not on the leverage hip, if you don't have the leverage foot up, on and on and on technically, then you're not building great muscle memory," said Al Golden.

5. Road To Recovery

Undrafted center Seth McLaughlin is working hard at rehab (Achilles) in hopes of being ready for training camp.

"I think it's going to be a really good add for us when we can see Seth back at his full potential," said scout Andrew Johnson. "We were thrilled to get him."
