The Salvation Army announced that it received more than 10,000 cans of chili from Gold Star Chili as part of their "3-point 3-way" promotion during the Cincinnati Bengals 2012 season.

For each 3-point field goal made by the Bengals this past season, Gold Star Chili committed to donating a case of chili to The Salvation Army. The donation of food will be used to benefit families coming to The Salvation Army for assistance at area Salvation Army Community Centers.

"We're delighted to partner with area agencies to benefit local families in need," explained Charlie Howard, Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development at Gold Star Chili. "Gold Star believes strongly in giving back to the community, and we're delighted to be walking alongside The Salvation Army to support their mission and work."

In addition to the donation of the cans of chili, Gold Star Chili partnered with The Salvation Army during the 2012 Red Kettle Campaign, with countertop kettles at approximately 90 area Gold Star Chili restaurants. In total, Gold Star Chili's customers contributed nearly $2,700 to benefit The Salvation Army's annual campaign, which benefits Emergency Assistance programs throughout the city.
