Five Observations from Day 9 of Bengals Training Camp

1. Noah Fant Compliments Joe Burrow

In six seasons, Noah Fant has never played with a QB comparable to Joe Burrow.

"The proof is in the pudding," Fant said. "That's no slight when it comes to anybody I've played with. Joe's put in the work and he's a great quarterback."

2. Mims Returns

Amarius Mims returned after missing a couple of days with a hand injury.

"It's a game of physical violence," Mims said. "I'm going to be in pain for the rest of my life every day as long as I play football. But you've got to fight through it for the greater good of the team."

3. Good Day For Jenkins

There were several scrimmage periods. The first team defense stopped the offense on its opening drive, thanks in part to a Kris Jenkins sack.

"Jenkins has shown the ability to rush the passer," Al Golden said. "He's healthy, he's quicker, and he's playing with a lot of energy."

4. Hudson Heroics

The first team offense answered with three straight TD drives, beginning with a 14-yard Joe Burrow strike to TE Tanner Hudson.

"I like to think that I can be in the right place at the right time for Joe, and find that open spot and be a reliable target for him," Hudson said.

5. Joe and Ja'Marr

Burrow's final drive ended with a perfectly thrown touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase, despite decent coverage by Josh Newton.

"Just incredible throws," Golden said. "Guys draped on them, and the ball can only be caught if it's in one spot."
