Five Observations from Day 7 of Bengals Training Camp

1. DJ Turner Shows Out

DJ Turner had an exceptional day with several PBUs.

"He showed the hell up and did what he's supposed to do. That's the 20 that we know," Josh Newton said. "He played his ass off today for sure."

2. Confidence Growing for Defensive Backs

Turner broke up throws for Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas. The DBs are gaining confidence from making plays vs Burrow and co.

"I'm not going to see better in a game," Turner said. "I'm not. That helps all of us. It doesn't matter who we're playing, I'm not going to see better."

3. Best of Burrow?

But even when the coverage is tight, Joe Burrow makes throws that are impossible to defend.

"It's the best I'm throwing it in several years, so I'm excited about that," Burrow said. "I'm excited about where our teams at too. A lot of young guys are stepping up and making plays.

4. Shemar Showing Out

Not sure how Shemar Stewart got matched up against a RB, but I have him reaching Desmond Ridder in 2.08 seconds.

"Once he really shows off why he was a first round pick and why they're paying him all that money, I think he's going to shock a lot of people," McKinnley Jackson said.

5. Outstanding Ossai

After Dylan Fairchild solidly won their first 1-on-1 pass rush rep, Joseph Ossai responded by winning the rematch.

"Ossai busts his ass every single day and gives you all that he's got," B.J. Hill said. "That's what I love about the guy."
