Five Observations from Day 13 of Bengals Training Camp

1. McLaughlin Sees Live Reps

Seth McLaughlin could play on Monday after getting reps as the No. 2 center today.

"First time playing some real live situation football," he said. "It's a ton of fun. Definitely feels a bit rusty, but the rust is knocking off quick."

2. Safe Hands Samaje

Samaje Perine had more catches than in any previous practice. He had three receiving touchdowns in a game vs Pittsburgh in 2022.

"We brought Samaje back for a reason," Dan Pitcher said. "He was a critical part of two deep playoff runs, and he's one of the best pass protecting backs in football."

3. Battle Picks off Burrow

Jordan Battle became the first player to intercept Joe Burrow in an 11-on-11 period and celebrated enthusiastically.

"I went to Joe's eyes," Battle said. "I just broke and the ball was right there. You've got to capitalize on the opportunity. We don't get 'em a lot."

4. Burrow Responds

Per usual, Burrow answered on the next series with a 45-yard TD bullseye to Andrei Iosivas.

"It's crazy, because as a receiver, you kind of expect the ball to be somewhere versus a certain coverage," Iosivas said. "And it's there every time. It's like a video game basically."

5. Cross Impressing

Howard Cross III got the most snaps of any DT at Philly and has impressed with his gritty play.

"The life of a D-tackle is not always sexy," Zac Taylor said. "He has shown the ability to do the things we're asking those guys to do. Do the dirty work and do it how we want it done."
