Five Observations from Day 1 of Bengals Training Camp

1. High Hopes for Chase Brown

The team record for scrimmage yards in a season is 1773 by James Brooks. Could Chase Brown break it? He had 1350 in '24.

"Chase Brown is going to be one of the focal points of our offense because he deserves to be," said Dan Pitcher.

2. Hot Defensive Start

Al Golden’s defense got off to a stellar start, making it hard for Joe Burrow to find open targets.

"I thought their energy was great," said Burrow. "I think the defensive backs were playing really well. Playing their leverages. Sticky in coverage. The (defense) won the day."

3. Strong Day From CTB

Cam Taylor-Britt was excellent, breaking up two passes to Tee Higgins and pouncing on a swing pass to Chase Brown.

"I'm excited about Cam," said Golden. "I loved his ball awareness today. I can definitely tell that he's focused on those details and he gives tremendous effort."

4. Versatile Geno

Listen to Golden say, "so freaking good" after a perfectly-timed blitz by Geno Stone leads to a break-up by Oren Burks.

"I feel like I'm getting to show my versatility," said Stone. "I haven't had a sack in my career yet, so that's something I'm planning on getting this year."

5. Who Dey Nation Showed Out

Zac Taylor says the energy provided by the fans is his favorite part of camp.

"When you get to see the fans, face-to-face, and the joy that a kid has when he's at practice and sees a player walk by, it's an excellent reminder of all the things you're really doing this for."

Bengals players returned to Paycor Stadium Tuesday for the start of Training Camp.
