Five Observations from Day 12 of Bengals Training Camp

1. Mike Brown Turns 90

Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were among the many players to approach team president Mike Brown and wish him a Happy Birthday.

In Tee's words, "You're 90 years young."

2. Good day for Charlie Jones

A healthy Charlie Jones is providing daily reminders that he can help in the passing game.

"Chuck's probably had his best sustained period of play with us," Dan Pitcher said.

"I'm just trying to prove to them that I'm the player they thought I was and even more," Jones said.

3. Rivers Works with Second Team

Rookie Jalen Rivers worked with the second unit at right guard for the second straight day.

"I really liked his tape," Greg Cosell told me after the draft. "I saw a lot of snaps over a two year period, and to me, he's just a really solid player."

4. Burrow to Brown

The final team period featured a 98-yard drive that ended with this Joe Burrow to Chase Brown touchdown pass.

"I think Chase Brown is a special player," Pitcher said Pitcher. "He's got a bright, bright future in this league as one of the top backs."

5. Golden Honored with Broyles Award

Representatives from the Broyles Award were on hand at practice to recognize Al Golden as the top assistant coach in college football last year.

The bronze trophy weighs 75 pounds and depicts Coach Broyles with his assistant Wilson Matthews.
