Week In Review: Pratt Signing Locks Up 2019 Draft Class
The Bengals this week signed LB Germaine Pratt, the team's third-round selection (72nd overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He had been the team's last unsigned draftee among its 10 selections. Pratt is exactly what the Bengals are looking for in the middle of a defense under a massive off-season overhaul.
Price Ready To Lead In Year Two
Billy Price, last year's first round draft pick endured a challenging rookie season. A torn pectoral muscle at the NFL Scouting Combine limited his ability to take part in the team's offseason program and a foot injury in the second week of the season forced him to miss six games. But Price is healthy and appears to be noticeably bigger going into his second season.
Gio Makes Himself At Home
Giovani Bernard arguably is busier learning coach Zac Taylor's offense than anybody except quarterback Andy Dalton. No matter what formation he is in or when his number is called, Bernard is excited about the his role in the new offense.
Glenn Steps Back Out
Bengals offensive line coach Jim Turner has seen plenty of tough times in his three decades of coaching. The loss of rookie left tackle Jonah Williams for what looks to be the rest of the season certainly qualifies, but he knows the blow is cushioned because not many of his colleagues can turn to an eight-year veteran like Cordy Glenn with 90 NFL starts to fill a void a month from training camp.
