Thursday quick hits

The Bengals are talking deal with their first-rounder and if things go according to plan they'll get cornerback Darqueze Dennard to sign before long.  That would lock up all eight draft picks by maybe as soon as next week's second week of voluntary practices….

Tight end Jermaine Gresham wasn't here for the first day of voluntary practices on Tuesday and word is he's dealing with a physical issue.  Indications are it could impact his participation in the voluntaries but there doesn't seem to be a concern he'd miss a big chunk of training camp…

The Bengals have four tight ends on the roster, last year's starters Gresham and Tyler Eifert, as well newcomers Kevin Brock, a second-year player, and college free agent Ryan Hewitt out of Stanford, a hybrid tight end-fullback-H-Back. Orson Charles, a converted tight end, is listed as an H-Back that works primarily as a fullback.

The Bengals have also been talking to last year's No. 3 tight end, Alex Smith, about a deal. They're monitoring his rehab from a dislocated wrist he suffered in the regular-season finale.
