As the Bengals enter their bye week, here are some key numbers to know from the first part of the 2024 season.
89.3
Joe Burrow’s 89.3 PFF-pass grade is the second-highest in the NFL and trails only Baltimore's Lamar Jackson. PFF also has charted Burrow with 21 big-time throws, the second-most behind Buffalo's Josh Allen. Burrow additionally has a 77.8 PFF-pass grade under pressure this season, the second-highest grade in the league among QBs with at least 50 dropbacks under pressure.
3,028
Burrow paces the NFL with 3,028 passing yards this season. He also leads the league with 27 touchdown passes. Per Elias Sports Bureau, Burrow's 21 career games with three or more passing touchdowns are tied for the third-most in NFL history in a quarterback's first five seasons, trailing only Dan Marino (33) and Patrick Mahomes (28).
1,056
Ja’Marr Chase is currently on pace to win the NFL's triple crown, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Chase would become the fifth receiver since 1970 to achieve the feat, joining Jerry Rice (1990), Sterling Sharpe (1992), Steve Smith Sr. (2005) and Cooper Kupp (2021).
Chase crossed the 1,000-yard threshold in 11 games, tying for the third-fastest Bengals receiver to hit the mark in a season behind A.J. Green (2013, 10 games) and Eddie Brown (1988, 10 games).
Chase's 12 receiving touchdowns hold a three-score lead over the next receiver, as Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown is in second with nine.
489
Chase's 1,056 yards through the air have been boosted by a league-leading 489 yards after the catch. For reference, Chase's YAC would rank within the top-40 among all receiving yards, and he has more yards after the catch than players like Cooper Kupp, Davante Adams and DJ Moore have total receiving yards.
Chase had an expected YAC of just four yards on his 70-yard touchdown in Week 5 against the Ravens, but ended up gaining 72 yards after the catch. His 68 YAC above expected on the play is the second-most on a single play in the NFL this year, per NFL NextGenStats.
29
Chase Brown has forced 29 missed tackles in his first season as a featured back, per PFF. That figure ranks within the top-15 among running backs, as does his 15 runs of at least 10 yards.
8
Offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. has allowed eight total pressures this season, ranking fourth among tackles with at least 200 pass-block snaps, per PFF. His 82.5 PFF pass-block grade and 98.1 pass-block efficiency both rank within the top-12 at his position as well.
55
Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson paces the NFL with 55 total pressures and 11.5 sacks.
104
Linebacker Logan Wilson ranks third in the league with 104 tackles. He is 31 tackles shy of his career-high 135 stops recorded a year ago.
