Power Packs available June 7 as sales heat up

In the wake of announcing Ticket Packs for the 2012 Bengals home season going on sale Thursday, June 7 at 9 a.m, team officials said Wednesday that season ticket sales are the best since the club came off its first AFC North title in 2005.

Jeff Berding, the Bengals director of sales and public affairs, and tickets sales manager Andrew Brown wouldn't get into specific numbers but said the total was in the thousands and Berding said there has also been an uptick in suites sales since the April 26-28 NFL Draft.

"We're obviously riding the excitement of a young team coming off a playoff season and the last few drafts that everyone seems to rate so highly," Berding said.

They say work needs to be done for the club to sell out the home schedule, like it did from 2004-2009. Berding and Brown emphasized that although the $40 seats have sold out, there are plenty of $53 tickets left in the packs and represent a $20 discount from last season. They said "there are plenty of great seats on all three levels" in the packs.

With the Bengals looking at hosting at Paul Brown Stadium the defending Super Bowl champion Giants on Nov. 11, the perennially popular Cowboys on Dec. 9, and quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer on Nov. 4 and Nov. 25, respectively, the club is holding the best seats for season tickets. 

The rest of the schedule includes visits by Miami as well as AFC North rivals Baltimore, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Both two-game and four-game packs will be available. Although strong response to lowered prices has exhausted the supply of this year's least expensive seats ($40 per game, now sold out via full-season tickets), Ticket Packs will be available starting at $53 per game, still the lowest price for Bengals tickets since 2005. Ticket Packs will have a per-game price below the cost of comparable single-game tickets (whose availability for the regular season is yet to be scheduled).

Ticket Packs also offer preferred seating options over single-game tickets, including the same seats for all games within a pack. And Pack buyers gain priority behind full-season ticket holders for 2012 season playoff seats.

Also on June 7, single-game tickets for the two Bengals home preseason games -- Aug. 10 vs. the New York Jets and Aug. 23 vs. Green Bay -- will go on sale.
