Chad Ochocinco scored 48 hours before Cincinnati's game with the Texans this Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium and he celebrated with a couple of tweets.
Motorola, a long-time partner of the Bengals as well as a recent addition to the Ochocinco camp, teamed with the club and Cincinnati's Channel 12 to make sure the 47th consecutive sellout at Paul Brown Stadium got well enough in reach so the 1 p.m. game could be seen live on Channel 12. Motorola plans to give away 600 pairs of free tickets starting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Ticket Office at PBS, located next to the Pro Shop.
For the ticket giveaway there is complimentary parking in Lot D, located on Mehring Way, east of Elm Street. Tickets are on a first-come, first served basis to fans 16 and over.
The game can also be seen on Channel 7 in Dayton, Ohio, and Channel 27 in Lexington, Ky.
Before Friday's practice, The Ocho was on the phone with one of his representatives, Robert Bailey, checking to see if the deal was going to come off and what the plan was to get the tickets to fans. About two hours after practice the deal got done and The Ocho tweeted it to the world.
"Attention: On behalf of Motorola and Esteban Ocho Cinco we've purchased the remaining tickets for Sundays game= no blackout," said the first tweet, followed by "Again there will be no blackout this Sunday, special thanks to Motorola and The Interesting One."
In spite of the blackout being lifted, the Bengals said in a news release that there are seats remaining and can be purchased by phone through the Bengals Ticket Hotline at 513-621-8383 (TDTD) until 5 p.m. Friday or between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets may be ordered online any time today or Saturday. Also, tickets may be purchased in person at the Bengals ticket office at PBS until 5 p.m. Friday, between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday and on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
"We are thrilled with the response from our fans, Motorola and Local12, and we are pleased that Bengals fans across the region can watch our game on Sunday," said Katie Blackburn, Bengals executive vice president, in the release. "We have great fans, and a sold-out Jungle will give us a real home field advantage."
The lifting of the blackout means that the sellout streak for regular and postseason games is going to reach 48 because the Oct. 25 game against the Bears is a sellout. Next up are the AFC North rival Ravens in a Nov. 8 game at 1 p.m.
