Maualuga, Hall injured but return

Updated: 9:15 p.m.

Bengals rookie linebacker Rey Maualuga was carted off the sidelines with three minutes left in the third quarter when he injured his left knee on a goal-line pileup. The play resulted in Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's one-yard touchdown sneak that gave Pittsburgh a 20-9 lead. Steelers left guard Chris Kemoeatu fell on Maualuga's knee in the pileup. Also injured was defensive tackle Tank Johnson with a right foot problem. Both were doubtful to return, but Maualuga did run back on to the sidelines and eventually returned to action.

Also injured early in the fourth quarter was cornerback Leon Hall (knee) and his return was questionable. But he did come back and made his return felt with a tackle on a kickoff.
