Enhanced pat-down procedure implemented at PBS

!

Following guidelines in effect across the NFL since the opening weekend of the regular season, the Bengals will implement an enhanced pat-down procedure for gate entry, beginning with this Sunday's 1 p.m. game against San Francisco at Paul Brown Stadium.

The new procedure is a recommendation from the NFL in accordance with the league's Best Practices for Stadium Security. In addition to the checking of all bags entering the stadium and the limited torso pat-down—both implemented in 2007—the pat-down now also will include the area from the knees to the ankles.

The Bengals wish to communicate this new process to all fans planning to attend home games this season. The Club also wants to remind all fans of the items that are prohibited from being brought into the stadium.

Though it is not anticipated that the enhanced pat-down will significantly impact the process of entering the stadium, the Bengals have long recommended that fans arrive early to the gates, and the Club continues to so recommend.
