Conflicts keep Keels from preseason booth

Paul Keels, who has been the TV voice of the Bengals preseason, won't be in the booth this year because of conflicts with Reds baseball and Ohio State football and the Bengals said Thursday that they are finalizing their decision on a replacement to team with Pro Football Hall of Famer Anthony Muñoz.

One leading candidate is believed to be Dan Hoard, the radio voice of University of Cincinnati football and basketball, as well as the play-by-play man for the Triple A Pawtucket Red Sox.

Three of the five games are going to be on the Channel 12 network, including the Paul Brown Stadium opener against the Broncos and the road games against Buffalo and Indianapolis. The Hall of Fame Game against the Cowboys on Aug. 8 is set for NBC at 8 p.m., and the Aug. 20 game against the Eagles at PBS is an 8 p.m. FOX game.
