X-Mas work: Dalton (full), Green (limited) return

Quarterback Andy Dalton (illness) returned on a full-time basis and wide receiver A.J. Green (bicep) returned in a limited role when the Bengals practiced Thursday. Tight end Jermaine Gresham also worked full after he and Dalton missed Wednesday with what head coach Marvin Lewis characterized as the flu.

Cornerback Terence Newman and safety Reggie Nelson missed their second straight practice because of the flu and kicker Mike Nugent and cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris surfaced on Thursday's injury report as a did not practice because of illness.

Green didn't work Wednesday after getting hurt early in Monday's game but he's trending to playing Sunday night (8:30-Cincinnati's Channel 5) in Pittsburgh. Defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry (hamstring) returned in limited fashion and SAM linebacker Emmanuel Lamur and wide receiver James Wright (knee) remained limited. Cornerback Darqueze Dennard (shin) returned Thursday to work full. Linebacker Chris Carter (knee) missed his second straight day.
