Roster Moves

The Bengals on Tuesday made the following roster and practice squad moves:

Signed free agent safety Mike Doss to the roster. Doss (5-10, 207; Ohio State) is a sixth-year NFL player, with 54 games played and 43 starts, plus two starts in five postseason games. The Canton, Ohio, native entered the NFL in 2003 as a second-round draft choice of Indianapolis and played for the Colts through 2006. He signed for 2007 with Minnesota as an unrestricted free agent and played in nine games, with seven games on the inactive list. His Vikings contract expired after the '07 season, and he has not been with an NFL team previously this year. His regular season career statistics include 178 tackles, seven interceptions and 17 total passes defensed.

Waived defensive end Josh Mallard, a fourth-year player from Georgia. Mallard signed with the Bengals as a free agent on Nov. 24 and played in the last two games, with one special teams tackle.

Signed rookie cornerback Marcus Brown to the practice squad. Brown (6-2, 200; McNeese State) entered the NFL on May 2 of this year as a college free agent with Arizona. He played in the Cardinals' first three preseason games, with six tackles, and was waived on Aug. 26.
