Reports: NFC courts Zampese, Jackson

Updated: 11:40 p.m.

MOBILE, Ala. - Quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese, who has interviewed for several offensive coordinator jobs during his six seasons with the Bengals, is headed to another one in Tampa Bay according to Pewter Report.

Zampese, 41, is up against a field that includes two former NFL head coaches in Chan Gailey and Scott Linehan. Conventional wisdom makes them the favorites because the Bucs have a 32-year-old rookie head coach with a defensive background in Raheem Morris.

Also, Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson has drawn interest to be a candidate for the 49ers' seventh offensive coordinator in seven seasons but The Santa Rosa Press Democrat says he has yet to be interviewed. Zampese had been in the mix in San Francisco before the 2006 season, but a late timetable inhibited his bid.

Jackson, a former Bengals wide receivers coach, has been speculated to returm to Cincinnati ever since he left after the 2006 season but there has been no turnover on the offensive staff since Mike Sheppard replaced him.
