IR list grows; T.J. probable

Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) took the practice field "to see how it feels" Friday morning and went through the early drills and pass routes OK. He ended up going the full practice and has been classified as probable.

But he's about the only one on a day guards Andrew Whitworth (high ankle sprain) and Scott Kooistra (knee) became even more additions to season-ending injured reserve. The Bengals have now placed 16 players on IR since the preseason finale and Whitworth is the seventh starter.

Three other starters, left tackle Levi Jones (back), safety Chinedum Ndukwe (foot), and end Antwan Odom (shoulder), weren't on the field at the beginning of Friday's practice. Jones and Ndukwe didn't work at all this week, so they probably are out Sunday against the Ravens and it looks to be a setback for Odom after he was limited Thursday.

Plus, cornerback David Jones (knee), who was going to start in place of the IR-ed Johnathan Joseph, wasn't on the field Friday. They are listed as doubtful.

The injuries continue to make the Bengals scramble to fill the roster. They signed first-year cornerback Geoff Pope from the practice squad, which they've done a few times this year. Pope had been on the roster for four games and had one special teams tackle before going back on the squad a few weeks ago. They also signed rookie tackle Kirk Barton from the Dolphins practice squad, his fourth stop since he got out of Ohio State. The 6-4, 305-pound Barton was a seventh-round pick of the Bears and played in the opener before the Dolphins picked him up on waivers the next week and the 49ers did the same last month. He re-joined Miami last month. **

WEATHER CHECK:** The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio is calling for 39 degrees under cloudy skies Sunday in Cincinnati with winds of about 10 miles per hour out of the east. There is a 50 percent chance of rain or snow showers with the probability increasing during the day.
