Dalton likes new hands on deck

Count Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton as another happy follower with his team's draft. He was looking for some help and got it with first-round guard Kevin Zeitler, third-round receiver Mohamed Sanu and fifth-round receiver Marvin Jones, as well as fourth-round tight end Orson Charles.

He's already texted Sanu and Charles. Charles, out of Georgia, wanted to get on a plane after he was drafted Saturday morning to throw with Dalton, but has to wait until the May 11-13 rookie minicamp.

"He wanted to know, 'What routes do I need to be working on?' He's definitely trying to do all the right things," Dalton said. "I'm happy to see it. Hopefully he'll pick it up quick and help us out."

Dalton shook his head over Sanu's prank call on Thursday and recalled how mad he got last year before he was taken No. 35 and got a text from somebody that wasn't a team.

"I sent him a text congratulating him; he had a crazy experience," Dalton said. "I'm happy he ended up here. I think he can be a big asset for this team.

"I thought we did a good job day one getting Zeitler, the guard. That's going to be a big pickup for us."
