Coats re-signed

Posted: 11:30 a.m.

The Bengals on Thursday signed fullback/tight end Dan Coats, a third-year NFL player who has been with Cincinnati for the past two seasons. Coats played in 31 of 32 Bengals games over 2007-08, with 14 receptions for 141 yards (10.1).

Coats's original Bengals contract expired after the 08 season, and due to his experience level, the Bengals held his exclusive NFL rights for 2009.
