 NOTEWORTHY

»» For the sixth time in the last seven seasons the Bengals close their year with the Ravens. The one year they didn't play Baltimore in the finale, the Bengals lost what amounted to the 2014 AFC North title game in Pittsburgh.

»» For the fifth time in Bengals QB Andy Dalton's six-year career, he finishes the season with a PBS game against the Ravens. He's won three straight, but this is the first time nothing is on the line. Last year the Bengals needed to win to keep alive hope for a bye. In 2013 they knocked the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens out of the playoffs. In 2012 both were in the postseason but seeds were at stake until Baltimore pulled QB Joe Flacco at halftime. In 2011 the Bengals needed to win to make the playoffs, but when they lost they got help elsewhere to make it.

»»Dalton and Flacco are the only quarterbacks in the Super Bowl era to lead their teams to the postseason in the first five years of their career.

»»Bengals head  coach Marvin Lewis emerged as a head coaching candidate during his six seasons as the Ravens defensive coordinator while Ravens head coach John Harbaugh played defensive back at Miami of Ohio and was an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati for eight years.

»» In the last six seasons, the Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers have each won the AFC North title twice.

»» Ravens WR Steve Smith has suggested this is his last game. When he broke in with the 2001 Panthers, his assistant special teams coach was Bengals special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons.
