What to Watch For | Ravens vs. Bengals Week 15

The Bengals look to complete a season sweep over the Ravens when they host their AFC North Division rival at Paycor Stadium on Sunday. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS (Cincinnati’s channel 12).

Here is what to watch for:

Burrow Closing in on 20K Passing Yards

Joe Burrow enters this week with 19,735 passing yards in his career. With 265 more on Sunday, in what will be his 74th regular-season game played, he would tie Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino and former Colts quarterback Andrew Luck as the third-fastest player in NFL history to reach the 20,000 mark. The only two players to hit the 20K milestone in fewer games are Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes (67 games) and former Detroit/current Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (71).

Burrow is coming off a season-high 284 passing yards in Week 14 at Buffalo. He previously was the fourth-fastest QB ever to reach 15,000 passing yards (56 games) and tied for the third-fastest to reach 10,000 (36). At the end of last season, his 19,001 career passing yards marked the sixth-most in league history in a player's first five years.

Burrow, who remains the NFL's all-time leader in career completion percentage (68.2), holds the Bengals' top three single-season passing yardage totals. He threw for a team-record 4,918 yards in 2024, had 4,611 in 2021 (second-most in team history) and 4,475 in 2022 (third-most).

Joe Nears 150th TD

Burrow has another career milestone within reach against the Ravens, as he is just two touchdown passes shy of 150 in his career. If he gets it on Sunday, his 74 games would be the third-fewest in NFL history to reach the mark, trailing only Marino (62) and Mahomes (63).

Burrow threw four scoring passes against the Bills last week, marking the first time he had four in a game since Week 10 of last year at Baltimore. His performance in Buffalo marked the 27th time in his career in which he had at least three TD passes, which surpassed Dallas' Dak Prescott (26) for the third-most such games in a player's first six seasons in league history.

Ja'Marr's 75th Game

Ja’Marr Chase will play his 75th regular-season game on Sunday, and some of his numbers to this point — unsurprisingly — are among the best in NFL history. He currently has 6,440 career receiving yards, and with 72 more against the Ravens, he would surpass Odell Beckham Jr. (6,511) for the fourth-most by a player in their first 75 career games. Chase has posted over 100 receiving yards in each of his last three matchups versus Baltimore, including a 110-yard night in Week 13.

Chase also heads into Sunday's contest with 486 career receptions. That total already is the third-most ever within a player's first 75 games, but with nine more, he would surpass Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown (494) for the second-most. Only former New Orleans receiver Michael Thomas logged more catches in his first 75 appearances with 538.

While it would take a monster effort, Chase is 14 receptions away from 500 in his career. If he pulls it off on Sunday, he'd be the second-fastest player in league history to reach that milestone behind Thomas, whose 500th catch came in his 69th game.

Chase's 91 catches this season rank third in the NFL. With nine more, it would mark the 16th instance in NFL history in which a player reached 100 receptions in three consecutive seasons. Chase led the NFL with a Bengals-record 127 catches in 2024, following 100 in 2023.

Offense Shoots for Another Fast Start

The Bengals have scored points on their opening offensive possession in each of the last six games, dating back to Week 8 against the Jets. It is the longest streak of opening-drive scores in the NFL this season, and the longest by any team since Cincinnati put together a seven-game streak from Weeks 4-11 of the 2023 campaign. The Bengals' current streak has consisted of three touchdowns and three field goals.

Extra Points

  • Evan McPherson’s 117 made field goals in his career are three shy of tying former kicker Horst Muhlmann (120) for the fifth-most in Bengals history.
