Eifert game-time decision

In such a short week prepping for the Dolphins Thursday night (8:25-Cincinnati's Channel 12 and NFL Network), the Bengals are limited to a couple of walk-throughs instead of all-out practices, so it's tough to get a gauge on where they stand with injuries.

What we do know is that head coach Marvin Lewis said after Tuesday's walk-through that Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert (ankle) is a game-time decision. He reiterated what he said last Friday indicating that Eifert would only play partial snaps and not a full game in his season debut. And since he was listed as limited that would be the most that could be expected.

The secondary, already missing cornerback William Jackson and just getting back slot cornerback Darqueze Dennard, keeps getting hammered. Starting cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (hamstring) and backup safety Derron Smith (chest) have yet to work after the Broncos game, which may make their availability dicey in a short week.

Starting safety Shawn Williams (knee) has been limited and George Iloka (shoulder), the other starter, went full after being limited Monday. Also going full were backup defensive tackle Pat Sims (Achilles) and backup wide receiver James wright (knee). Kicker Mike Nugent (shoulder) went full for the second straight day.
