Bengals Go Prime Time vs. Chiefs

Andy Dalton

Riding a 4-1 start spiced by three fourth-quarter comebacks, the Bengals have played their way into a prime-time spot when they meet the 5-0 Chiefs Oct. 21 on NBC's Sunday Night Football.

The NFL announced the flex Tuesday morning, moving the game in Kansas City out of the 1 p.m. slot into an 8:20 pm. centerpiece highlighting two of the surprise teams in the league. Rams-49ers moves to CBS at 4:25.

The matchup, which can be seen locally on Cincinnati's Channel 5, pits two of the NFL's hottest quarterbacks. Quarterback Andy Dalton's 12 TD passes, tied for third in the league, goes against Chiefs' first-year starter Patrick Mahomes' league-leading 14.

The Bengals' last appearance on Sunday night came three years ago in a thriller in Arizona that they lost, 34-31, on a field goal with two seconds left. The Dalton-Green Bengals' only appearance at Arrowhead came in a 28-6 victory in 2012.
