Ja'Marr Chase Voted as FedEx Air & Ground Player of Week 7

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase was named FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week for his performance in Week 7, the NFL announced today. The weekly honor is voted on by fans, selecting the top two offensive performances of the previous week out of the six nominees.

Chase joined Colts RB Jonathan Taylor as the winners of the award this week. The wideout received more votes than Chargers QB Justin Herbert, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and 49ers RB Christian McCaffery.

Chase caught a franchise-record 16 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's 33-31 victory Thursday night over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 16 receptions were the most by any player in the NFL so far this season, and he became the third player in NFL history to record 14+ receptions in at least four games in his career.

The Week 7 primetime victory marked Chase's seventh game with at least 10 receptions and 150 receiving yards, surpassing Minnesota WR Justin Jefferson for the most such games in league history in a player's first five seasons.

The wideout also became the third receiver in NFL history to record 6,000+ receiving yards and 50+ receiving touchdowns within their first five seasons, joining Hall of Famers Randy Moss and Jerry Rice.

Chase takes home Air and Ground Player for the second time this season, also winning in Week 2, and he's the first player to win it multiple times this season. He received the honor twice in 2024 and was awarded the 2024 FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Year, along with Bills QB Josh Allen. This is the second year of the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Awards' new format, which allows wide receivers and tight ends to be eligible for the award each week and at the end of the season. Rams WR Puka Nacua and Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown join Chase as the receivers to be named Air and Ground Players so far in 2025.

This year, FedEx will make $2,000 donations each week in the name of the winning players ($4,000 total) to Feeding America to help combat food insecurity across the country. Since the start of the FedEx Air & Ground program, FedEx has donated nearly $3 million to different nonprofit organizations.
