Bengals sign Turner, Takavitz; Roberts waived

The Bengals today made the following roster moves:

Signed free agent C-G Larry Turner to a two-year contract. Turner (6-2, 290; Eastern Kentucky) is a second-year NFL player. He was a seventh-round choice of the St. Louis Rams in the 2004, and he played in 14 games for the Rams last season, with one start at LG. He also saw action at LG and on special teams in the Rams' NFC Divisional Playoff game at Atlanta. He was with the Rams in the 2005 preseason and was waived on Sept. 3.

PRACTICE SQUAD MOVE: The Bengals today signed rookie G Kyle Takavitz to the practice squad. Takavitz (6-3, 310; University of Cincinnati) was originally signed by the Bengals on June 27 of this year and played in three preseason games before being waived on Aug. 30.

ROBERTS WAIVED: CB Terrell Roberts has been waived from the Reserve/Injured list. Roberts was waived/injured from the Bengals preseason roster on Aug. 30, and upon clearing waivers, had reverted to Cincinnati's Reserve/Injured list to complete his rehab from an Aug. 5 knee injury.
