Armour is bound for World Bowl

Bengals safety JoJuan Armour led Barcelona with 11 tackles last weekend as the Dragons shut down Scotland, 14-9, to clinch a berth in the June 30 World Bowl.

The Dragons have a 7-1 record and lead the NFL Europe League by three games with only two games left in the regular season. Amsterdam, Rhein and Barcelona - all sporting 4-4 records - are vying for the title game spot opposite Barcelona.

Armour, a third-year NFL player for 2001, is the first Bengals-allocated player to NFL Europe to reach the World Bowl. The game will be played in Amsterdam and televised on the Fox Network (WXIX-TV, Channel 19, in Cincinnati). Kickoff is at noon, Cincinnati time. ......

Four other Bengals players are participating this season in NFL Europe. FB Ricky Brown is with Berlin, G Anthony Byrd and TE Kirk McMullen are with Amsterdam, and S Gary Thompkins is with Frankfurt

In Week 9 action this Saturday, Frankfurt visits Rhein at 1 p.m. in the national U.S. telecast on Fox Sports Net. The Scotland-at-Barcelona game will air at 11 a.m. Saturday on DirecTV Channel 704, and the Amsterdam-at-Berlin game kicks off at noon Saturday on DirecTV Channel 705.
