Defensive end Trey Hendrickson was revealed on the NFL's Top 100 list at No. 14 overall Thursday.
Hendrickson led the league with 17.5 sacks in 2024, becoming the first Bengal to pace the NFL in takedowns since sacks became an official stat in 1982. He outproduced second place, Cleveland's Myles Garrett, by 3.5 takedowns, leading to his first AP first-team All-Pro nomination. Hendrickson also had 17.5 sacks in 2023.
The defensive end has been everything the Bengals could've hoped for since he signed with Cincinnati in 2021, being named to four Pro Bowls in four seasons. He ranks third in the NFL in sacks during that span with 57 and is tied for second with 11 forced fumbles. Originally a third-round selection by the Saints in 2017, Hendrickson had 13.5 sacks in his last season in New Orleans.
The Bengals and Hendrickson agreed Monday to a raise for the 2025 season Monday, and he returned to practice Wednesday.
"I love this city and with what's been happening the last couple of months, I've had time to reflect on what it means to me and how much I want to stay a Bengal for the 2025 season," Hendrickson said.
The edge rusher's return to the field means the award-winning trio of Hendrickson, QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase will all be in the fold for Week 1 against Cleveland: They became the first three players from the same team to lead the league in passing, receiving and sacks in the same year in 2024.
This marks Hendrickson's fifth-straight year making the NFL Top 100 list after slotting in at No. 77 in 2024, No. 75 in 2023, No. 78 in 2022 and No. 73 in 2021. Hendrickson also joins teammate WR Tee Higgins as the Bengals currently announced on the list, who appeared at No. 77 back in July.
Active NFL players vote on the Top 100 list, which is currently in the process of being revealed, starting with No. 100 and going down to No. 1. The top 10 will be announced live on NFL Network on Monday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m.
