Joe Burrow Voted as FedEx Air & Ground Player of Week 16

Bengals QB Joe Burrow was named FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week for his performance in Week 16, the NFL announced today. The weekly honor is voted on by fans, selecting the top two offensive performances of the previous week out of the six nominees.

Burrow joined Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence as the winners of the award this week. The quarterbacks received more votes than Chargers QB Justin Herbert, Bills RB James Cook, Steelers RB Jaylen Warren and Saints WR Chris Olave.

Burrow completed 25-of-32 passes for 309 yards, four touchdowns and a 146.5 passer rating in the 45-21 victory over the Dolphins Sunday. He became the fifth quarterback ever to record 20,000 pass yards in their first 75 games, joining Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck and Dan Marino. Burrow also joined Mahomes and Marino as the only players in league history to throw for at least 150 touchdowns in the first 75 games.

Among all players in NFL history through 75 career games, Burrow ranks first in completions (1,868), third in touchdown passes (152) and fifth in passing yards (20,269).

This is the second year of the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Awards' new format, which allows wide receivers and tight ends to be eligible for the award each week and at the end of the season. Burrow joins WR Ja'Marr Chase as the only Bengals to receive the honor so far this year, as Chase was voted as a winner in Weeks 2 and 7.

This year, FedEx will make $2,000 donations each week in the name of the winning players ($4,000 total) to Feeding America to help combat food insecurity across the country. Since the start of the FedEx Air & Ground program, FedEx has donated nearly $3 million to different nonprofit organizations.
