Evie Schoolfield from Mount Notre Dame was named a finalist for Maxwell Football Club's Girls National Flag Football Player of the Year Award Tuesday. The Bengals nominated Schoolfield this fall for the award after she helped Mount Notre Dame win the Girls High School Flag Football Championship at Paycor Stadium this past May for the second year in a row.
Schoolfield has currently received eight college scholarship offers for girls flag football, the most ever by a Cincinnati athlete. Over the summer, she started a flag camp at her grade school to encourage the next generation of flag athletes.
The Maxwell Football Club (MFC), home to several of football's most prestigious awards, including the Maxwell, Chuck Bednarik and Bert Bell awards, announced the eight finalists for the 2025 Girls National Flag Football Player of the Year Award Tuesday. Four finalists from each conference have been selected for consideration. Out of this group, the national selection committee will choose the National Player of the Year.

Working in partnership with NFL clubs that submitted nominations throughout the fall, players were evaluated by the Maxwell Football Club's national selection staff, which comprises leaders in girls' flag football and women's athletics across America. Student athletes have been identified as finalists, and on January 10, 2026, one player will be announced as the Maxwell Football Club National Flag Football Player of the Year. The 2nd annual MFC National Flag Football Player of the Year award will be presented on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the 89th Maxwell Awards, which will be held at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
