More excitement happened this week in the NFL as both Randy Moss and Shawne Merriman were released by their respective teams and claimed off waivers. From a fantasy standpoint the moves aren't nearly as interesting as they may seem. Moss has a history of being a diva on the field and a problem in the locker room, so don't expect him to turn the clock back 10 years and become a top tier fantasy WR.

I see Moss actually improving the value of Chris Johnson more than I do his own value. Merriman is really in the same boat in terms of fantasy value as Moss. He will not increase the value of the Bills defense and isn't an option for those in IDP leagues either. He has not been the same player since the steroids suspension and knee reconstructive surgery.

Byes: Broncos, Jaguars, 49ers, Rams, Titans, Redskins

START 'EM

Michael Vick: Vick makes his triumphant return to the Eagles lineup this week and he should be considered a QB1 this week. The Colts enter this week ranked No. 7 in passing defense, but Vick creates matchup problems both as a passer and as a runner given his unique skill-set.

Philip Rivers: Rivers is one of the better QBs in the league, but this weekend he faces the last-ranked Texans pass defense and that has me licking my chops. Rivers has thrown at least one TD in every game this season and the Texans have allowed the second-most passing TDs (16) this season.

Matt Forte: Forte has been all over the map in terms of fantasy value this season, so it is no surprise that owners have no clue when they should and shouldn't play him. This week I would start him as a low-end RB1 since the Bills are dead last in run defense. Merriman won't be in the lineup this week, so he isn't even a factor in the decision.

Michael Turner: Turner is still a great RB1, but he has also been up and down this season in terms of production. The last five weeks he has put up 100-plus yards and maybe a score, then he finishes with sub-50 yards and no scores. This week I think he puts up top three type of numbers and I would play him over almost every other RB out there.

Greg Jennings: Jennings may have just one game where he put up over 100 yards receiving, but he has scored in all but three of the games in 2010. This week he faces the Cowboys, who have allowed the third-most receiving TDs (15) this season.

Terrell Owens: I keep waiting for T.O. to take a backseat to Chad Ochocinco, but it never seems to happen. Owens has caught a touchdown in four straight games now and even though the Steelers have given up just six receiving TDs this season, they have allowed the 11th-most receiving yards (1,817). I think he could get in the endzone again this week.

Jacob Tamme: I told you last week to not only pick up Tamme, but to start him. Did you listen? All he did was catch six passes for 64 yards and a TD, good enough to be a TE1 in any format. This week the Colts match up against the Eagles and I think Peyton Manning is someone that loves to throw to his TE, so play Tamme again this weekend as a mid-TE1.

New York Giants Defense: I noticed that a lot of owners cut the Giants after a disappointing start to the season, but they have come on strong as of late and are a great start this weekend against the Seahawks offense. This could be a good week to bet on the Giants shutting someone out, so play them as a top-tier DEF1 this weekend.

SIT 'EM

Matthew Stafford: Stafford goes from a must-start to a must-sit this week. The Lions face the Jets and their 18th-ranked pass defense. Darrelle Revis is back to normal duties and that means he will blanket Calvin Johnson all day, meaning Stafford will have nobody to throw to.

Jason Campbell: Last week Campbell blew up for 310 yards and two TDs, but this week he runs into the Chiefs. They have allowed nine TDs this season and give up 239.1 YPG. The Raiders passing attack is not good enough to give Campbell start value this week, so I'd keep him on the bench.

Jahvid Best: Best hasn't scored since Week 2 and hasn't had more than 78 yards rushing in any game this season. His best fantasy attribute is that he also catches passes out of the backfield, making him an option in PPR leagues as well. The fact still remains that he doesn't get the rushing yards and the Jets are too good on defense to play him.

LeGarrette Blount: Blount put up 120 yards rushing and two TDs last weekend against the Cardinals, but this weekend he faces the Falcons and their defense is allowing just 95.9 YPG on the ground. Add to that the fact that opposing teams have scored just three rushing TDs on them this season, and you get a recipe for a Sit 'em.

Marques Colston: I am not a big fan of Colston because Drew Brees spreads the ball around so that Colston doesn't get consistent numbers. He has caught a TD in the last two games, but I think that ends against a Panthers defense that is No. 1 in receiving yards allowed (1,349).

Mike Williams (Sea): I told you last week to bench Williams and hopefully you listened. This week is no different as Williams will face the surging Giants defense. They have allowed just 1,404 yards receiving and Williams doesn't have a good enough supporting cast to make a believer out of me. He will forever be a draft bust in my book.

Tony Moeaki: Moeaki is on the Chiefs, and we all know just how unpredictable they can be on offense. Moeaki hasn't found the endzone since Week 3; he hasn't had more than four receptions over the same time and hasn't posted more than 58 yards receiving this season. I don't care for him in fantasy terms and you shouldn't either unless you completely ignored TE in your draft.

Miami Dolphins Defense: The Dolphins are a fairly good fantasy defense, but the Ravens have a great RB and WR on their team, and their QB is nothing to sneeze at. I'd sit them completely and look at picking up someone like the Chiefs, Cardinals or Bills.
