America's dairy farmers and the NFL established the Fuel Up to Play 60 program to empower students to eat healthy and be active. Fuel Up to Play 60 is the largest in-school health and wellness program in the country, with more than 73,000 schools enrolled nationwide.
Locally, the Cincinnati Bengals and the American Dairy Association Mideast deliver the program to nearly 1,700 schools in the Cincinnati area and impact 915,000 students.
On behalf of Ohio's dairy farmers, the American Dairy Association Mideast has awarded more than $1.4M in Fuel Up to Play 60 grants to over 360 Ohio schools and provided NFL flag football kits to over 530 buildings to help them meet their health and wellness goals.
Each year, the Fuel Up to Play 60 program and Cincinnati Bengals award a deserving school district with a $10,000 Hometown Grant to support healthy eating and physical activity in their schools. Today, we celebrate Hometown Grant recipient West Clermont Local School District. West Clermont Local is in Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Ohio with 8,500 students at 9 buildings and the 23rd largest of Ohio's 610 school districts. This Hometown grant supported improving their High School with two mobile meal carts, electronic charging stations at the high school café, flag football kits for middle and high school and tackle rings for the high school football team. Sixteen representatives from the West Clermont High School are on the field during the pre-game today to celebrate their Hometown Grant.
