Sims has been a regular in the D-line rotation in each of his first two NFL seasons … Played in every regular-season game in 2009, and made eight starts as an injury replacement … Logged 36 tackles, with 0.5 sacks and a fumble recovery … Missed the Wild Card playoff vs. the N.Y. Jets, due to injury suffered in Game 16 … Had 50 tackles as a rookie in 2008.

Jets, and was placed on Reserve/Injured list on Jan. 4.

2009 HIGHLIGHTS: On Sept. 20 at Green Bay, recovered fumble by RB Ryan Grant at Bengals 38 in third quarter, returning ball to offense for touchdown drive that put Bengals ahead to stay at 28-21 … Recorded four tackles in win Sept. 27 win vs. Pittsburgh, including shared sack of Ben Roethlisberger in fourth quarter that forced Steelers to punt prior to offense’s game-winning TD drive … Led line with five tackles in Oct. 11 victory at Baltimore … Had three tackles and team-high three QB pressures Oct. 18 vs. Houston … Had three tackles Nov. 15 at Pittsburgh as defense limited Steelers to 226 net yards, 156 yards below their average entering the game (382.0) … Tied for line lead, and tied personal season high in tackles (five) Dec. 13 at Minnesota.

PREVIOUS SEASONS: 2008 - Made NFL debut Oct. 12 at N.Y. Jets and posted seven tackles, including one for-loss ... On Oct. 19 vs. Pittsburgh, logged seven tackles, second on line, including one-for-loss ... On Nov. 2 vs. Jacksonville, tied for line lead in tackles with six, including first NFL sack when he dropped David Garrard for two-yard loss ... COLLEGE: Played three seasons (2004 and ’06-07) at Auburn, entering NFL Draft after his junior season … A first-team All-SEC choice by Associated Press in ’07, despite playing most of the year with a cast to protect a left hand fracture … Key force inside for ’07 club that ranked sixth nationally in fewest points allowed (16.9) and average net yards allowed (197.9) … Had 4.5 sacks as a junior … Missed the 2005 season, absent from the team due to family issues.
