WEEK 14 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Beechwood High School football team as our Week 14 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

Beechwood hosted a rematch of last year's Class 1A State Semifinal again last Friday night against Campbellsville High School and the result did not change at all. Beechwood would gain the victory 48-13 and advance to the Class 1A State Championship game for the third straight season.

Logan Castleman led the charge with 264 yards on 32 carries and 5 TDs. QB Cameron Hergott had another 90 yards rushing and 2 TDs, as the Tigers dominated on the ground throughout the evening.

Beechwood will look for their third straight Class 1A State Title against Pikesville this Friday night. The Cincinnati Bengals wish head coach Noel Rash and the Beechwood Tigers the best of luck as they look to capture another championship!

WEEK 13 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Colerain High School football team as our Week 13 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

Undefeated this season, the Colerain Cardinals made it clear that they are on a mission, dominating Elder on the field for a 42-0 victory and a trip to the Division I final four. "It's a testament to the kids and how hard they work and the coaches how hard they work," said coach Tom Bolden and this football team has indeed worked hard all season.

Senior FB Ivan Pace carried the ball 16 times for 202 yards and 2 TDs, including a 93 yard TD run early in the 4th quarter to put the Cardinals up 28-0. Pace would also record 7 tackles and a sack on defense. The Cardinals finished with 474 total yards of offense, holding Elder to just 190 total yards and only 60 yards rushing on the night. Senior QB Deante Smith-Moore would add 2 TDs on the ground, as well as a passing TD.

The Colerain Cardinals (12-0) look to stay red hot heading into a showdown with a familiar foe, the defending state champion Pickerington Central Tigers (11-2), in the state semifinal this Friday night at 7 p.m.

WEEK 12 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Anderson High School football team as our Week 12 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

Down by three with the ball on Anderson's 30 yard line, it looked like Troy would pull out the win. That was until senior defensive back Connor Brondhaver stepped in front of a pass and grabbed the interception to seal a 38-35 victory for the Anderson Redskins.

QB David Thompson remained poised throughout the entire game. Trailing from behind for most of the contest, Thompson led Anderson down the field on crucial drives to cut into Troy's lead the entire contest, including with 41 seconds left before halftime, when he completed 4-of-5 passes to set up kicker Willie Johnson for a 34 yard FG. It was that kind of determination and grit that helped Anderson edge out Troy for the second straight year.

The Redskins will take on Winton Woods in the Region 8 final this Friday night. The Cincinnati Bengals wish head coach Evan Dreyer and the Anderson Redskins the best of luck as they continue to march toward a state championship!

WEEK 11 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Lakota East High School football team as our Week 11 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

Senior QB Sean Church capped off a 13-play, 67 yard drive of all running plays with a 4 yard TD run to open the second half against the 2 seed Mason Comets in the Quarterfinals of the State Playoffs. Junior kicker Gavin Myers would add field goals from 31 yards and 20 yards, including one to give the Thunderhawks the lead in a 20-17 victory last Friday night.

Junior defender, Corey Dick, would stop one of the Comet's WRs short of a first down on a fourth down try late in the 4th quarter. This allowed the Thunderhawks to run out the clock and pull off the upset on the road to advance to the Division I Region 4 State Semifinals.

The Thunderhawks will take on 3-seed Elder this Friday night looking to advance to the State Championship. The Cincinnati Bengals wish Head Coach Rick Haynes and the Lakota East Thunderhawks the best of luck on their quest for a State Title.

WEEK 10 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy football team as our Week 10 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

QB Cole Fisher threw for 330 yards and 4 TDs, leading the Eagles to a 43-29 victory over Miami Valley Christina Academy last Friday night. The win keeps CHCA undefeated in the Miami Valley Conference – Scarlet division and has them at 7-2 (4-0 MVCS-S) on the season.

Alex Barnard would grab 2 TDs on four catches for 125 yards from Fisher on the evening to lead all pass catchers. DJ Ames led the charge on the ground for the Eagles, racking up 129 yards on 14 carries and adding a TD. Julian Herman added another four catches for 120 yards and a TD, while also collecting nine tackles on the defensive side. Ultimately, the defense was led by DB Garrett Jostworth who was soaring all over the field on his way to three interceptions!

The Cincinnati Bengals wish Head Coach Mark Mueller and the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Eagles football team the best of luck as they look to head into the playoffs.

WEEK 9 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Milford High School football team as our Week 9 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The Eagles pulled out a close victory against West Clermont last Friday night to keep their playoff hopes alive. Strong defense and a powerful running game catapulted the Eagles (7-2) to a 23-21 victory over the West Clermont Wolves.

Cameron Kells ran for 194 yards and 3 TDs in the win, as he was seemingly unstoppable on the ground. The Eagles defense came up with some big plays down the stretch. A sack in the end zone resulting in a safety late in the third, and a stop on a 2-point conversion that would have tied the game, proved to be the difference maker in a tough battle.

The Eagles will take on Turpin High School this Friday night at 7 p.m. on Senior Night. The Cincinnati Bengals wish head coach Tom Grippa and the Milford Eagles the best of luck in their regular season finale!

WEEK 8 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Indian Hills High School football team as our Week 8 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The Braves pushed their winning streak to 5 games by defeating Finneytown last Friday night 57-7. The dominant victory gives Indian Hill a 7-1 overall record up to this point in the season, while keeping them undefeated in conference play.

QB Cole Dein only needed 22 yards and a touchdown through the air, as the Braves completely owned the trenches throughout the night, racking up almost 300 yards rushing on the evening. RB John Mark Williams finished with 118 yards on 8 carries and two scores, while RB Dimetrious Baylor added another three touchdowns, carrying the ball six times for 129 yards. Special teams also contributed, as Trey Lopez would return a punt to the house for another score for the Braves.

Indian Hill will look to stay on track this week, taking on Deer Park at home at 7 p.m. on Friday night.

WEEK 7 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Wyoming Cowboys football team as our Week 7 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The Wyoming Cowboys put their stamp on the Cincinnati Hills League, beating conference opponent Madeira High School by an impressive score of 70-0. The Cowboys have been rolling and, with their victory last Friday night, push their record to 7-0 on the season.

Offensively, the Cowboys saw huge production throughout the game, especially on the ground. QB Evan Prater only had to throw nine passes, but those passes accumulated 196 yards and a touchdown. He would also add 63 yards and 2 rushing TDs. RB Pierson Rogers would run the ball nine times to add 80 yards and 3TDs.

Defensively, the Cowboys would hold the Madeira Mustangs to just 72 total yards. They would also take two interceptions back for house calls, adding 2 TDs from the defense to contribute to the victory.

The Wyoming Cowboys return home this week to take on Reading at 7pm on Friday night. The Cincinnati Bengals wish head coach Aaron Hancock and the Wyoming Cowboys good luck this week!

WEEK 6 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Elder High School football team as our Week 6 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The Panthers collected the first home win in the last five meetings against the St. Xavier Bombers, handing them their 3rd consecutive loss of the season. A 27-point third quarter helped propel the Panthers to a 51-26 victory at The Pit.

Senior QB Michael Bittner launched a pass to Kyle Trischler for a 71 yard TD late in the third quarter, as he led his team to an impressive victory. Bittner finished 17-23 for 392 yards and 3 TDs, also adding 97 yards and 3 more TDs on the ground. His QB rating would be an astounding 251.4! The Panthers would finish with 569 total yards of offense and a victory.

Tune in Friday at 7 p.m. as the Panthers travel to Nippert Stadium to face the Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders.

WEEK 5 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Archbishop Moeller High School football team as our Week 5 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The Fighting Crusaders secured a huge victory over the St. Xavier Bombers this past Friday night to start off conference play. Coach Doug Rosfeld points to his team's hard work in the offseason weight room and conditioning sessions as the reason they were able to pull this victory out.

Senior defensive end, Ryan Mullaney, led the Crusaders with 8.5 tackles and two sacks. The Bombers were limited to 27 rushing yards on 25 attempts, as the Moeller defense remained stout in a game that saw 15 punts. Moeller's seniors stepped up big time as RB Chrys Watkins finished with 96 yards rushing and DB BJ Hendrix returned an INT 45 yards to the house for a 19-7 lead. The Fighting Crusaders would win the game 19-14.

The Fighting Crusaders take on the La Salle Lancers on the road this Friday night at 7pm.

WEEK 4 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Deer Park High School football team as our Week 4 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The Wildcats were in a wild rivalry game against the Reading Blue Devils this past Friday night which had them dig deep in the 4th quarter to overcome their rivals over at Reading High School.

An amazing 23 points in the 4th quarter saved Deer Park's undefeated season and got them the four point win (43-39) against Reading. QB Jerry Heard, who had four touchdowns on the night, scored the game winning score from nine yards out late in the 4th quarter to give the Wildcats the victory.

The Wildcats return home this Friday night to take on the Taylor Yellowjackets in a conference game.

The Cincinnati Bengals wish Head Coach Calvin Johnson and the Deer Park Wildcats all the best this week.

WEEK 4 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Fairfield High School football team as our Week 4 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

Three first half touchdowns by Peyton Brown, helped Fairfield extend its winning streak against Hamilton last Friday night!

Brown finished with three carries for 43 yards and 2 TDs and added three receptions for 68 yards and a TD. Add 149 rushing yards and 2 TDs by JuTahn McClain and four catches for 60 yards by Michigan verbal commit, Erick All, and you get a 40-6 victory by Fairfield over Hamilton. The Indians haven't lost to Hamilton Big Blue since 2012 and refused to let that change Friday night.

This week, the Indians will take on Lakota West at home at 7 p.m.

WEEK 3 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Colerain High School football team as our Week 3 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

After a 13 hour delay due to poor weather, Head Coach Tom Bolden and his Colerain Cardinals team pulled away with the victory on Saturday. St. Xavier would go up 6-0 at the half last Friday night, until lightning was sighted and both teams were sent home, then told that the game would resume Saturday morning.

The Cardinals caused a fumble on the Bombers' first series of the third quarter and J.J. Davis would take a pitch in for the touchdown to give the Cardinals a 7-6 lead. Later in the third quarter, Deshawn Pace would come up with an interception to set up another score by Colerain giving them a 14-6 lead.

A late score by the Bombers made the score 14-12, but the Colerain defense was too much to handle as they got a sack on the 2-point conversion attempt and finished the game strong!

WEEK 2 - St. Xavier came ready to play and show everyone what they're about in this year's Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown at Paul Brown Stadium last Friday night. Facing uncertainty at the QB position heading into the matchup, the Bombers charged to a 34-0 victory and put all speculation to rest.

Junior QB Wyatt Hudepohl went 8-9 for 98 yards and an 11-yard touchdown run to help St. Xavier break out a 20-0 lead after just the first quarter of play. The signal caller finished 12-18 for 145 yards and a touchdown, crediting his impressive performance to the protection he received from his offensive line and his receivers making plays.

The Bombers offensive line also made sure to take control of the ground game, helping the RBs rush 30 times for 114 yards. Coach Steve Specht has made it clear that he expects his team to run the ball efficiently while he allows Hudepohl to progress every week to get him adjusted to the starting QB role.

This week the St. Xavier Bombers will take on the top-ranked Colerain Cardinals this Friday night in a game that is sure to be a treat to fans and give the winner major momentum to carry throughout the remainder of the season.

WEEK 1 - The Cincinnati Bengals have selected the Covington Catholic High School football team as our Week 1 Gatorade High School Football Spotlight.

The 2018 High School Football Spotlight is a joint initiative from the Cincinnati Bengals and Gatorade to highlight teams in the Cincinnati area for their accomplishments on and off the football field. This is a weekly spotlight, showcased on Bengals.com and Bengals social media accounts.

Coming off a division 5A state championship season, many wondered whether or not Covington Catholic could continue their dominance to start off the 2018 season. Any doubt was dismissed Friday night as the Colonels made a statement in their 40-7 victory at Borland Stadium against the Ryle Raiders.

Sophomore QB Caleb Jacob, played lights out, going 12-15 for 294 yards, and two touchdowns through the air. However, not to be outdone, RB Casey McGinness was named the game's MVP as he rushed for 118 yards on 13 carries and added another four scores on the ground. As a team, the Covington Catholic Colonels offense amassed 483 yards of total offense.

This week the Colonels travel to Lexington to play in the Bluegrass Bowl against Henry Clay (1-0)!

The Cincinnati Bengals and Gatorade would like to wish Head Coach Eddie Eviston and the Cov Cath football team the best of luck with the remainder of their season!
