Joe Burrow Placed On Reserve/Injured List; Quinton Spain & Brandon Allen Signed Off The Practice Squad

The Bengals today made the following roster moves:

*Placed QB Joe Burrow on the Reserve/Injured list. Burrow, the No. 1 overall pick of this year's NFL Draft out of Louisiana State University, suffered a left knee injury in team's game at Washington on Sunday. The injury will require surgery and rehabilitation, though the team's medical professionals expect him to fully recover and be back to lead the team next season. Burrow had started all of the team's 10 games this season and completed 264 of 404 passes for 2688 yards, 13 TDs and five INTs (89.8 passer rating). He also had rushed 37 times for 142 yards and another three TDs.

*Signed G Quinton Spain off the practice squad. Spain (6-4, 330), a sixth-year player out West Virginia University, originally was a college free agent signee of the Tennessee Titans in 2015. He signed to the Bengals' practice squad on Oct. 30 and has played in all three games (two starts) for Cincinnati since, after being elevated to the active roster for each. He has played in 73 career games (68 starts) for the Titans, Bills and Bengals.

*Signed QB Brandon Allen off the practice squad. Allen (6-2, 209), a fourth-year player out of the University of Arkansas, originally was sixth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, and then later spent time with the L.A. Rams and Denver Broncos. He spent the first 10 games of this season on Cincinnati's practice squad, after joining the team as a free agent on Aug. 1. He has played in three career games (all with Denver in 2019), and completed 39 of 84 passes for 515 yards, three TDs and two INTs.
