The Bengals today signed C Frederick Mauigoa and DT Kahlil McKenzie, who both were free agents. The team also waived WR Damion Willis and G Clay Cordasco.
Mauigoa (6-4, 310), a rookie out of Washington State University, originally signed with Carolina as a college free agent in April, but was waived on Aug. 1. He played four years (2016-19) for WSU, appearing in 43 games, with 39 starts at C.
McKenzie (6-3, 320), a second-year player out of the University of Tennessee, originally was a sixth-round draft pick (198th overall) of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He spent his rookie season with the Chiefs, but did not see game action, and then spent the entire 2019 season on Seattle's practice squad. He was waived by the Seahawks on July 26. McKenzie, who was a DT in college, had been listed at G at previous NFL stops, however the Bengals are listing him at DT.
Willis, a second-year player, originally signed with the Bengals as a college free agent signee out of Troy University in 2019. He played in 10 games (two starts) as a rookie, and caught nine passes for 82 yards. Cordasco, a rookie, had signed with Cincinnati as a college free agent out of Oregon State University on April 28.
