A fifth-year NFL player for 2010, Jones signed with Bengals as a free agent on 2-18-10 … Was a first-round draft pick by Jacksonville in 2005, and in four seasons (’05-08) with Jaguars, played in 54 games with 15 starts and caught 166 passes for 2153 yards and 15 TDs … Also played in three postseason games, with nine catches for 142 yards and one TD … Did not play in NFL in 2009 … Led Jaguars in receiving yards in two of his four seasons … His most productive season was 2008, when he led team in receptions (65) and receiving yards (761) despite playing in only 12 games … Made transition to pro WR after starring as a QB throughout his college career.

2009 RECAP: Released by Jacksonville on March 16, after being suspended for the last three games of 2008 for a violation of NFL substance abuse policy … Not under contract with an NFL team for the remainder of the year.

2007—Played 12 games, with 24 receptions for 317 yards and four TDs … Played in both Jaguars postseason games, and on 1-12-07 at New England, he had a 49-yard reception plus an eight-yarder for a TD … On Oct. 28 at Tampa Bay, caught eight-yard game-winning TD pass from Quinn Gray … Had a career-high 138 receiving yards in regular-season finale Dec. 30 at Houston, including a five-yard TD, and set a career-best (later tied) with eight receptions.

2006—Led team with 643 receiving yards, playing 14 games with four starts (missed two games with hamstring injury) … Had 41 catches, including 13 of 20 or more yards, and scored four TDs … Led team with 15.7 per-catch average … Caught six-for-128, with a 15-yard TD, on Dec. 3 at Miami … Caught five-for-104 in season finale Dec. 31 at Kansas City.

2005—Drafted by Jacksonville in first round (21st overall) … Played in every game, including one postseason contest … Had 36 receptions for 432 yards, and his five TD catches set a Jaguars rookie record while ranking second among NFL rookies for the season … Had first career 100-yard game (five-for-117) on Nov. 13 vs. Baltimore, with a TD.   

COLLEGE: Four-year letterman (2001-04) at QB for Arkansas, finishing career as No. 2 in Razorbacks history in TD passes (53) and passing yards (5857) … Had plus-23 differential between TD passes (53) and INTs (30) … Gained 8392 yards in total offense and had a hand in 77 TDs, smashing records previously held by Clint Stoerner (7049 yards and 62 TDs) … Established Southeastern Conference record for career rushing yards by a QB (2535) and had 24 rushing TDs.

PERSONAL: Hometown is Fort Smith, Ark. … Played his first three prep seasons at Van Buren (Ark.) High School, and played as a senior at Northside HS in Fort Smith … Earned all-state football honors as a senior, passing for 830 yards and rushing for 939 … Also played basketball in high school, and was a finalist for McDonald’s All-America honors … Active in community service in Jacksonville, supporting events such as Taste of the NFL, Operation Blessing, reading initiatives and youth football camps … Favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing.
