Sears has shown himself to have potential NFL-level skills, but his on-field college experience was limited … Began his career at University of Michigan, playing 11 games in 2006 for club that went 11-2 with Rose Bowl berth … Averaged 17.8 yards on five kickoff returns in ’06 and had 13 tackles … Also played at Michigan in 2007, but saw action in only four games, as he left the program before season’s end … Averaged 22.2 yards on six kickoff returns in ’07, along with 7.0 yards on two punt returns … In 2008, attended College of the Sequoias (Visalia, CA) and practiced with the team, but did not play … Transferred for 2009 to Eastern Michigan, where he played in the first nine games before missing final three with a hamstring injury … Started at CB for Eastern Michigan, with 37 tackles and seven passes defensed … On special teams at EMU, averaged 22.9 yards on 33 kickoff returns and had a blocked kick … Hometown is Fresno, Calif., where he attended Thomas Edison High School … African-American studies major at Eastern Michigan.

    The Cincinnati Bengals hosted the 13th annual Taste of the NFL benefiting the Freestore Foodbank. Players and cheerleaders attended the "dinner-by-the-bite" event which involved more than 40 area restaurants. This year's Taste of the NFL raised approximately $130,000 for the Freestore Foodbank, the equivalent of 390,000 meals.
