Started 31 of his 32 career games with the Utes before suffering mid-season foot injury in 2016 that ended senior campaign ...      Coach Paul Alexander says: “Dielman will fit in with the guys we have. He’s a big, tough, physical, smart guy that has a passion for football. I like him. He can play center, guard, and a little tackle. He’s a versatile guy.”

 

     College highlights: Blocked for Utah RBs Joe Williams and DeVontae Booker, who averaged a combined 5.4 yards per carry over Dielman’s three years as a starter and three times topped 1200 yards (Williams totaled 1438 rushing yards in 2016, while Booker had 1512 in ’14 and 1261 in ’15). 2016—Started first five games at center before suffering season-ending foot injury at California. 2015—Started all 13 games at ROT and earned all-Pac 12 second team honors (coaches and media) ... Helped block for RB DeVontae Booker, who totaled 1261 rushing yards and 11 TDs. 2014—Started all 13 games at ROT and played most snaps (852) of any Utah lineman ... Helped Booker to a 5.2-yard per carry average and 1512 rushing yards. 2013—Played in one game (vs. Weber State). 2012—Did not play (redshirt).

 

     High school: Attended Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Ariz ... Team captain and first team all-state selection for team that finished 13-1 and won Arizona DI state championship ... Played on both sides of the ball, giving up just one sack and making 39 tackles as a senior.

 

     Personal: Hometown is Ahwatukee, Ariz. (outside Phoenix)... Economics major at Utah ... Cousin, Kris Dielman, played nine years as an offensive lineman with the San Diego Chargers ... Last name is pronounced “DEAL-man.”
