2006—Signed Jan 16 to Colts offseason roster … Acquired by Green Bay, on waivers from Indianapolis, on April 6 … Played in every Packers game, hitting 26 of 35 FGs (including career-long 54-yarder) and going 31-for-32 on PATs … Had 11 touchbacks on 72 kickoffs … Tied Packers record with 54-yard FG on Oct. 2 at Philadelphia, one of three he kicked while scoring all nine Packers points in the game … Scored all of Green Bay’s points in a 9-7 win Dec. 21 vs. Minnesota, including a game-winning 44-yarder with 1:34 to play.  

2005—Drafted by Indianapolis in sixth round (202nd overall) … Played in 14 Colts games, handling 82 kickoffs … Waived on Dec. 21, and signed Dec. 30 to Colts practice squad.

COLLEGE: Four-year letterman (2001-04) at Michigan State, finishing career as Spartans’ all-time leader in points (334), FGs (62) and PATs (148) … Career FG percentage of 68.9 (62-of-90) … Two-time semifinalist (2003-04) for Lou Groza Award (nation’s top placekicker) … Also punted as a junior, averaging 40.4 yards on 14 kicks with eight inside-20s.

*NOTE: Rayner did not earn an accrued year of experience toward NFL free agency in 2008 or ’09 because he was not on a 53-player roster, a Reserve/Injured list or a Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list for the required minimum of six games in either season.
