There are two constants in the life of the Cincinnati Bengals at the beginning of any football season. Mock turtle soup and the quest for stability at the quarterback position and on Tuesday Mike Brown, heading into his 24th season as the Bengals president, one season longer than his dad had the job, toasted the stability of Andy Dalton.
If the offense had their day Thursday, the defense flexed its muscles during Friday’s practice and ran all over the place with its advertised speed and athleticism as the Bengals cornerbacks showed why they are one of the strengths of this team.
Left tackle Andrew Whitworth was a surprise addition to the active/physically unable to perform list (PUP) when the Bengals started training camp Thursday with what appears to be a minor calf strain. Whitworth apparently picked up the nick in Wednesday’s conditioning test.
