Update: Bengals get tix extension; Crocker sits again; Tank limited

For the fifth time this season the NFL on Wednesday gave the Bengals an extension, in part, because of Christmas and the club has until 1 p.m. Saturday to sell out Sunday's 1 p.m. home regular-season finale against the Chiefs so it will be televised locally. If this season's trend continues, what amounts to a 48-hour extension will be followed by the club's 52nd straight sellout and sixth straight sold-out season.

That would put the Bengals' bid to clinch the AFC North title live on CBS affiliates Channel 12 in Cincinnati, Channel 7 in Dayton, Ohio, and Channel 27 in Lexington, Ky.

CROCKER SITS: For the second straight day this week and fifth straight practice since he reinjured his ankle in Minnesota, safety Chris Crocker sat out Thursday, eliciting fears he could miss his second straight game. Defensive tackle Domata Peko (knee) worked on the side for the second straight day and could practice Friday. Tight end J.P. Foschi, with his wife due with their first child, was out again Thursday. Defensive end Frostee Rucker (illness) was out and defensive tackle Tank Johnson was limited with his plantar fasciitis.
