Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson is one of three finalists for the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK for games played on December 23-27, the NFL announced. The GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK is the best moment or play of the week that represents determination and perseverance.

A 2008 second-round pick with just three career receptions, Simpson didn’t quite have the resume of the two receivers he was helping replace. But with receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco sidelined, Simpson came through with six catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns to key Cincinnati’s 34-20 upset victory over San Diego.

Simpson is up against Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Denver quarterback Tim Tebow's for this week's award.

Fans may vote for one of these three moments beginning immediately following Monday Night Football and ending on Friday at noon ET to determine the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK. The winner will be announced Friday during NFL Network’s “Around the League” show and then posted on NFL.com.

After the regular season, fans will have a chance to determine the GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE YEAR from among the 17 weekly winners. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January.

FEDEX AIR PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Also, Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has been recognized by the NFL for his efforts in Cincinnati's 34-20 victory over the San Diego Chargers last Sunday.

Palmer is one of three finalists for FedEx Air Player of the Week along with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman.

Palmer passed for 269 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in the Bengals victory.

Fans can vote on NFL.com for Palmer. Voting for FedEx Air Player of the Week will remain open until this Friday at noon ET. The winner will be announced Friday evening on NFL.com.

Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program, FedEx continues its support of Safe Kids USA by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Safe Kids coalitions in that team’s city, is used for pedestrian safety improvements throughout the year, from upgraded crosswalks and safety signs to traffic barriers and educational training.
