With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, the season of giving is filling the heart of one NFL player. On November 23, Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe and The Ndukwe Foundation donated Thanksgiving dinner to 200 families in the Cincinnati area.

“Between food, football and family, Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite days,” Ndukwe says. “I wanted to help local families have the same chance to create the fond memories that I have made.”

In an effort to reach out to local families in need, The Ndukwe Foundation teamed up with two community-driven organizations, The End Zone Club and the Corryville Recreation Center.

Nate Foster, Director of Planning for the End Zone Club is overwhelmed by Ndukwe’s generosity. “We have had people help us out in the past,” Foster says. “But Chinedum has taken it to another level and it’s just very powerful.”

Ndukwe delivered turkeys and all the trimmings to 100 End Zone Club children and their families at the Carl H. Lindner Family YMCA and to another 100 families at the Coryville Recreation Center.

“Chinedum does a lot of wonderful things in the community,” says Bryan Servizzi, Service Area Coordinator at the CRC. “We’re very pleased and grateful he thought of us.”

Each family received a turkey and the traditional Thanksgiving sides as well as recipe cards for healthy meals to make in the future. The Ndukwe Foundation’s mission is based on the importance of healthy eating and leading an active lifestyle.

The End Zone Club is a youth program that addresses the academic and character development needs of students K-12 and the Coryville Rec Center is part of the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.
