Help us spread the word and tell others about Cincinnati 2K Race with a Sports Twist to benefit Bengals player, Nate Livings: Kids-In-Sports Initiative. The event will take place at Keehner Park in West Chester on Saturday, October 1.
This is a rain or shine event. Winning teams receive great prizes! The day's events also include a raffle for a Nate Livings signed Authentic Cincinnati Bengals jersey. A summary of the events is as follows:
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1
1 p.m. - Kids 1K Race with a Sports Twist/Cross Country (Kids grades 1-6 only)
2 p.m. - Great 2K Race with a Sports Twist/Cross Country (Adults/Kids grades 5 & up recommended)
4 p.m. - Great Sports Race After-Party (food & drinks)
This is one of the funnest events of the year. It is open to adults & kids. Similar to a popular TV show, two-person teams will (together) run/walk a 1K or 2K cross country course with up to eight fun-filled pit stops. At each pit stop, teams will receive a clue and be required to complete a sports task in order to proceed to the next pit stop. The team that reaches the finish line with the fastest overall time wins.
Part of the fun is that the tasks are kept SECRET. However, we can share with you that past races have utilized equipment from the following sports: football, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, soccer, track & field, lacrosse, fishing and others. You can expect that we will put your athletic and mental skills to the test.
Teams must consist of two people. Team captains can register team and are allowed to add/substitute members at any time prior to start of race. There are spots for a limited number of teams, so team captains are encouraged to register early.
All proceeds benefit the Nate Livings: Kids-In-Sports Initiative, providing programs to educate parents and students about the benefits of participating in after-school sports programs, especially during the hours of 3-6 p.m., as it has the power to improve performance on academic tests, eliminate racism and foster life long friendships.
