NOTEWORTHY
» The Bengals gun for 5-0 at home for the first time since the 1988 AFC championship season. Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton was a backup cornerback on that team.

» The 4-5 Browns can tie the 6-4 Bengals in the loss column. The last time the two clubs played this late in the season with anything on the line was Dec. 3, 1989 in Cleveland when Boomer Esiason threw two TD passes to lead the 7-6 Bengals to a 21-0 victory over the 7-5-1 Browns. But both still trailed 8-5 Houston.

» Bengals SAM backer James Harrison, a product of Akron, Ohio, has had some big days against the hometown team. The first of his 66 career sacks came in Cleveland in 2004 when he dumped Jeff Garcia. He has 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in his career against the Browns.

» The Browns won the first regular-season game ever at Paul Brown Stadium on Sept. 10, 2000 in a building named after the Browns and Bengals founder. Browns running back Travis Prentice, who shared Miami of Ohio as an alma mater with Paul Brown, scored the first PBS TD.

» Coaching for the Bengals that day was Horton, the Bengals secondary coach, and Browns secondary coach Louie Cioffi, then a Bengals staff assistant.

» Horton was a Bengals second-round pick out of Washington in 1983. Bengals nickel back Chris Crocker was a Browns third-round pick in 2003 out of Marshall.

» Browns defensive back Julian Posey, who is on the practice squad, played at Cincinnati's La Salle High School. Cincinnati's Harrison played at Akron's Coventry High School.
