With Kyle Caskey's appointment to running backs coach, the Bengals have replaced him with a familiar face in Brian Braswell.

Braswell, the club's new assistant offensive line/quality control coach, worked last spring and training camp with the Bengals in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Minority Internship coaching program. He also spent the spring and summer of 2010 with the Steelers. He'll work closely with assistant head coach/offensive line coach Paul Alexander and also handle some game preparations.

Braswell, 35, who played center and tackle at Hampton University, spent the last nine seasons at NCAA Division II Morehouse College, the last six as offensive line coach and run game coordinator. He also coached the field goal and extra point teams while developing and installing strength programs.

“Brian is an energetic guy who finds ways to contribute, and we’re happy to add him on for 2014,” Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said in a news release. “We were very impressed with the work he put in for us in the offseason and training camp last year.”

You knew the counts of Collinsworth and Casanova had the vibe. That the knights of the Kennys were in the know. That the dukes of Dillon had the draw and the barons of Boomer had the bead.
